About BIRAF
Biraf is one of the major electrical machines rewinding, repair and overhaul workshops in Egypt. Founded by Boulos A. Rafael under the name of RAF since 1969, joined later by Ibrahim S. Michael in 1985 under its current name: BIRAF.
Developed from a small workshop to a large building in Cairo then to a large workshop in the industrial zone of 6th of October city, one of the main industrial zones in Egypt since 1999.
After 25 years of experience in this domain, the company now is the authorised service repair partner for many motor manufacturers such as Ansaldo, MarelliMotori, Siemens, and Elin Motoren.
Biraf rewinds all types of machines and ratings up to 10MW and 11kV rated voltage. Biraf also perform all mechanical repair needed for machines such as fretted or broken shaft repair, bearing housing repair, end shields repair or manufacture, slip ring manufacture, lifting devices repair or design and manufacture.
In 2011 and against all the political problems, we built our new extension (the mechanical workshop) to give more space for the mechanical repair and have more chance to extend the mechanical repairs we perform....
With 9m of altitude and 25 Ton Crane Capacity, we performed successful repairs rated up to 13MW with frames up to 26 tons.
