Pumps

Pump systems are critical components in a wide range of industrial applications, from water supply and wastewater treatment to oil & gas production and chemical processing. AEMT members, with their expertise in rotating electro-mechanical equipment, are well-positioned to handle various aspects of pump systems.

Types of Pump Systems:

  1. Centrifugal Pumps: Commonly used for transferring liquids in high-flow, low-pressure applications.

  2. Positive Displacement Pumps: Used in applications requiring high pressure and accurate flow control.

  3. Submersible Pumps: Designed to operate underwater, often used in water supply and wastewater treatment.

  4. Diaphragm Pumps: Suitable for handling corrosive or hazardous liquids.

Key Functions and Services by AEMT Members:

  1. Manufacturing and Distribution: AEMT members are involved in the manufacturing and distribution of various types of pumps, ensuring quality and reliability.

  2. Installation: Expertise in the proper installation of pump systems, including alignment and commissioning, to ensure optimal performance.

  3. Maintenance and Repair: Offering preventive maintenance services, including condition monitoring to detect issues before they become critical failures.

  4. Emergency Services: Providing 24-hour emergency services to address any urgent issues, minimizing downtime and operational losses.

  5. Asset Management: Utilizing advanced monitoring systems to manage the health and performance of pump systems, thereby extending their lifespan and reducing the total cost of ownership.

  6. Energy Efficiency: In line with AEMT's focus on sustainability, members aim to make pump systems as energy-efficient as possible, often through the use of inverter drives to control pump speed and reduce energy consumption.

  7. Refurbishment and Renewal: Over 75% of materials are reused or recycled during equipment refurbishment, contributing to a circular economy and extending the equipment's life.

Applications in AEMT Sectors:

  • Oil & Gas: Used for transferring crude oil, chemicals, and other fluids.

  • Utilities: Employed in water treatment plants for water supply and wastewater management.

  • Agriculture: Used in irrigation systems and other water management applications.

Training and Networking:

AEMT offers technical training and networking opportunities, ensuring that members are up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices related to pump systems.

In summary, pump systems are integral to many industrial sectors, and AEMT members offer a comprehensive range of services and expertise to ensure these systems are efficient, reliable, and sustainable.
